I was just watching that "dating in the dark" show where 3 men and 3 women meet in the pitch darkness and get to know each other.  I think the show is completely unfair.  It would be soo much funnier if it threw in some fugly people!  The people on it are beautiful, thin, late 20s to early 30 year olds.  They should have thrown in some fuglys, some fattys, some short people and some seniors.  Let them get to know each other well and get to like each other.  After they just might be in love, turn on the lights and, pow, hilarious!  LOVE to see the looks on their faces!

Free! :.) Read fiction online

Hey!  I am very into reading things online.  I find that there are some great writers out there writing fiction.  One of them is this guy:   www.jessture.com . He writes an ongoing blog about a highschooler and his daily life.  I like it a lot, so far.  One other great place is http://www.blogcatalog.com/ .  So many writers in one place!  I am always on deviantart.com/ looking at fanfics (that is, works of fiction made by fans of a particular show using the original characters).

Obama-Care

This is a fascinating string of emails from an autism list-serve that I am a part of.  These autistic parents do not support the new government health-care plans because they are concerned that they will not approve alternative medications.  They are considering moving to another country.  Go to the bottom to see the whole point.

I know, but at this point they are not mandating it - although the UK might.

But yes, a beach would be nice!

just saw europe is fast tracing the swine flu vaccine too.... maybe south america would be good, on some island..

Yeah, but it could very well turn out like he predicts. It is not looking good for our interests. And we are looking at a massive swine flu campaign in the next month or two. This was in Obama's campaign platform, so I don't know why anyone is suprised. He also said that "he does not believe in selective vaccination, because I fear diseases like polio can come back". So what he said is he doesn't think people should be able to choose which vaccines to take, we need to take them all. As I said before the election, someone who says they don't believe people should be able to choose to vaccinate, AND who's campaign platform centered around the need for stronger public health and a more aggressive flu vaccine program, well that makes me browse the real estate listings in Canada and Europe. I am definitely forming a "plan B".

As far as the health care plan, that worries me just as much. His campaign stressed "standard of care" and "proven science". At least at this point I can purchase heatlh care that I feel meets my children's needs. If the only health care available to us was what the CDC says is acceptable, then we would be screwed.

shoot, this guy is brutal . . .

I can't help but worry about the whole socialized medicine thing.  Does anyone have any other input on this?

I saw this on the mercury autism board, I was impressed by andy's summary and had no idea the dan docs where targeted too, thought it was just the lyme docs being targeted by the government.. .

And what if it becomes illegal for doctors to prescribe alternate care??

Which both HillaryCare and ObamaCare would do.

HillaryCare would have made it a felony with 5 years in prison for the doctor to Rx or you to take an Rx for anything Stephen Barrett of QuackWatch didn't approve of (he wasn't named, he was the guy who wrote the first draft of the bill and spelled out the conditions of what could and couldn't be Rx'd).

Luckily this did not pass as I would have died a few years later because of it.

ObamaCare isn't YET spelling out that it is a felony, but is creating a National Socialist Administrative health care agency to decide what are "good," "effective," etc therapies that doctors ought to Rx, and what are "bad," "unproven," "not up to date," "inappropriate, " etc. therapeis that they should not Rx. This will be done by using the same criteria the head Quack (Barrett) spelled out in HillaryCare.

Quite understandably, once this passes there will be licensing board enforcement, medicare fraud prosecutions, etc. based on it.

Some of your children may die. Most will be condemned to remain autistic with no hope of recovery.

Caring doctors (of the sort Mrs. O'Rourke discusses in an earlier post) will still exist, will still be decent people, and will still try to do the right thing. It will just become harder and harder for them to do and fewer will do it.

Many of you have heard useful bits of information about this at various times but let me lay it out: how government health care has already punished the very doctors who give your child hope.

Holmes - massive audit by Tricare (military insurance) and others to take back all monies ever received for seeing autistic children and trying to help them.

Bradstreet - charged with medicare fraud for trying to help autistic children.

Cave - harassed by her licensing board (and left with a $100,000 legal bill) for daring to write a book critical of vaccinations ( www.noamalgam. com/vaccinations .html )

the list goes on and on.

I absolutely agree that health insurance companies are as a rule evil in trying to deny valid claims just to keep more money. However this does not excuse creating a far more evil system as Hillary Clinton proposed, and Obama now proposes.

Remember, Hillary Clinton is the single person most responsible for turning your children autistic - even though HillaryCare failed to be enacted, she devoted her energies to making sure that more and more vaccines were given at younger and younger ages. She was successful in this. It resulted in today's autism epidemic. Hopefully Obamacare will both fail and NOT leave such a devastating legacy.
